Number of areas of the brain which react to pain Two. Subjective/Objective. See Ch4 pg.4.
Describe how different areas of the brain react to pain. Objective: location and intensity. Subjective: how unpleasant the pain felt. (see pg4 of Ch04)
What does the research on the pain centers of the brain have to do with design? It depends; both areas are equal. If the audience identifes with people in stories in the design and sympathize with the characters' pain, audience members may be motivated to do something about the pain.
Which is more persuasive: data alone, or a story with data? A story with data is more persuasive than data alone because stories simulate concrete experiences which our brains are wired to process better than abstract data alone.
